We have National Parks across this great nation of ours, but how many are in your backyard? For those us who live in the greater Boston area, The Longfellow House–Washington’s Headquarters National Historic Site is just a stroll from Harvard Square in Cambridge. Stop by and tour the grounds. House tours begin on May 22. Bring a friend or two.

Past Events

Knox Trail 250

On Saturday March 7, 2026, we took a trip across the Charles River to visit our friends at the Roxbury Historical Society to celebrate the Knox Trail 250. This reenactment depicts the arrival of cannon to the Right Wing Headquarters of General Thomas to be placed at Dorchester Heights. The Dillaway–Thomas House commanded the front lines of the Siege of Boston.

Celebrate America’s 250th

Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary of independence by making a gift of $250.

Our national parks have always been a source of inspiration, reflection, and unity. As Friends, we remain committed to supporting their preservation and welcoming all who find solace and strength in these special places.
